Let me start of saying you need to take this article with a larger-than-usual grain of salt. Yes, it is possible to merge the scoring of the 4A races, but the "blue" race was conducted under substantially less favorable conditions of heat than the "green" race that didn't get going until a little after 7:15 in the evening.
So, when you take a look at the results below, know that Durango was still, hands-down, the best team on the course, but the teams racing in the blue race probably are a bit handicapped in the merged outcome shown below.
And, it does appear that a team or two might have been more invested in a tempo kind of run than in throwing a competitive race out onto the course.
