Great Falls Invitational (MT)

RESULTS

Flo50 No. 10 Annie Hill ran another decisive victory over Montana rival Christina Aragon on Friday night, winning the Great Falls Invitational in 17:08.7 to 17:29.3.

The Glacier High School sophomore took the pace out hard in 5:21 for the first mile and ran solo through what were record temperatures of 90 degrees on the Eagle Falls Golf Course, which also hosts the state cross country championship.

"Christina is such a good runner that I need to get ahead of her, because she's got a really amazing kick," Hill told the Great Falls Tribune about racing the 4:37 miler, who is a senior at Billings High School.

Hill split 11:46 through two miles, while Aragon paced with teammate Tiahna Vladic for an opening mile of 5:33 before cruising through two miles in 11:56.

Junior Marshall Beatty of Sentinel High School dominated the boys' race in similar fashion, racing 15:18.84 with splits of 4:51/10:26. He defeated defending champion Aidan Reed, who ran 15:36 for runner-up honors.
