How good is Mountain Vista? Good enough they would have won the league title--in a very solid league, no less--with their JV rosters. Simply plug their times from the JV races (when temperatures were hotter than for the varsity races) and Mountain Vista prevails over league runner-up Rock Canyon in both cases.

Eventually, the league, and the state, will reel in Mountain Vista--that's the way of dynasties, the seed of their eventual undoing is invariably spread in the very act of their domination--but, for now, Mountain Vista is a little short of peers.

Perhaps they will export some of that shortness of peerdom to Arizona after they get done doing what they need to do here in Colorado. That remains to be seen.
