If, as a lot of people expect, 2A goes to a run 6/score 4 format next fall, Peyton will be just fine with that. In fact, they just might be happy with run 7/score 5.
In 2A terms, this is a very deep and talented team, and they're getting better at just the right time of the season.
Of Peyton's top six finishers today, only one is a senior. It's true that one senior would happen to be Quinten Harris. And Harris did win the regional individual title in a most convincing manner. But putting all of your next five into the top ten, and all at 19:00 or better, means you have a bundle coming back next year.
Behind Harris, Peyton had Garhett Shaw, Ryland Howard, and Caleb Smith all in the top five. The 2A Region 2 team scoring--at least so far as the team title was concerned--was done about as soon as it started.
