Armory Track Invitational (NY)
Track fans could see two national records go down on Saturday at the New York Armory.
Drew Hunter enters in pursuit of the sub-four minute mile. The Loudon Valley, Va. senior became the first prep to break eight minutes in the 3K last weekend with his new National High School Record of 7:59.33.
Only Alan Webb has ever broken four minutes in the Mile indoors: 3:59.
Another potential threat to the National High School Record books is Sammy Watson of Rush Henrietta, N.Y. in the 1K. The junior will aim for Sarah Brown, neé Bowman's standard of 2:43.4; her best is 2:47.27 from this meet last year. The World Youth Champion has 2:03. wheels over 800 meters.
