over 20 wins during her career, which includes a 5A state championship in the
400 in 53.64 seconds a season ago. Behind a powerful Fort Collins girls track
and field team lies a rare weapon.
Schulte is arguably the most versatile athlete in the state.
On the final day of the Front Range League Championships in
Broomfield, the senior received a stiff challenge in both the 200 and 400-meter
dashes from Mia Coats. The Mountain Range sprinter, one half of the equation to
the Mustangs' dynamic junior class with Zoe Gilbertson, pushed Schulte to the
brink in the 400. She never quite closed the gap in finishing as the runner-up
