One Last High School Effort for Rainsberger

Katie Rainsberger's final race that counts as a high schooler comes tomorrow.

Competition at the IAAF World Junior Championships begins today in Poland.

The event of greatest interest to Colorado track and field fans, however, doesn't happen until tomorrow. At 12:25 PM Mountain time, Rainsberger steps to the line with the world's best U20 females to contest a world championship at 3000 meters.

Rainsberger, who has been training at low elevation in advance of this event, joins Kate Murphy as the USA's representatives in the race. Rainsberger ran 9:11.60 in June to qualify for the race.
