If anyone is to be able to keep pace with Pomona this spring, it appears to fall to Tyler Shannon and his Ralston Valley teammates to get it done.
The Pomona Panthers are the reigning kings of 5A Boys track and field. As such, it's not terribly surprising that they come out on top of the Jeffco 5A depth rankings, even despite a key loss or two to graduation.
Ralston Valley is probably the only other school in the league--barring some sort of magical transformation--a reasonable shot at garnering the league title. Both Pomona and Ralston Valley have a lot of weapons--much will hinge on who did what over the off season. If Ralston Valley does end up making a serious run for the league crown, it will likely be more of a matter of depth than volume of top-end talent. In the top-end talent category, Pomona holds a strong edge on the rest of the league.
Top returning individuals in the league include Brandon Micale, Ezekiel Creps, Isaac Lopez, Jake Moretti, Jason Romero, Jeremy Gonzales...
