Zach Waite figures to be the guy to beat in the Patriot League 400.
The Patriot League boys have seen several strong years of Platte Valley teams. This year figures to be no different, but we should also recognize that Derek Prescott was tragically killed in an auto accident this past fall. From the perspective of the Broncos and the entire Patriot League, that's a bigger blow than any virtual meet analysis will ever hope to encapsulate.
Platte Valley probably remains the league favorite, though Sterling, University, and Resurrection Christian might each present credible challenges. There's a lot of talent spread around this league, so we'll have to wait and see how it all spreads around this spring before coming to anything but the most premature of conclusions.
