2018 CSML: Pine Creek, TCA Execute Sweeps

At one mile in, there was not yet much clarity on who the leader was.

CSML Girls: TCA And Pine Creek Dominate Their Own Domains

Whatever issues may have attended scoring the boys results mid race had packed their bags and headed south by the time the girls race took the course.

There was a conspicuous wave of white Pine Creek singlets and cardinal TCA singlets dominating the scenery at the front of the field.

Pine Creek's scoring five checked in as Lucy Hart, Katie Hibbard, Madelyn Blazo, Brooke Coleman, and Kayla Anderson. Nadine Almasri was right behind. Nobody needed any further convincing. The Eagles' 42 points bettered second-place Fountain-Fort Carson by 35 points. That's a gaping disparity in the scoring when there are only seven teams in the race.

On the 4A side of things, Ashten Loeks (pronounced--I learned just yesterday--as Lukes) was the only one who stood between TCA and a perfect score of 15. Loeks wedged into second place, meaning the five of Kaylee Thompson, Katie Flaherty, Kennedy McDonald, Becca Thompson, and Sarah Burroughs earned a nice score of 19.

Elizabeth's 53 earned second.

Thompson eventually wore down Loeks enough to put six seconds on Loeks in the individual tally. Coronado's Madeline Moreland and Hart grabbed the 3-4 spots in the combined tally, but the 1-2 spots in the 5A standings.
