Morgan Smalls & Addie Renner AAU High Jump
One of the greatest girls high jump fields ever assembled will take place this weekend featuring two North Carolina stars in Addie Renner (Myers Park) and Morgan Smalls (Panther Creek). The six girls below have all cleared 5-10 in their high school careers with three, Smalls, Shelby Tyler (Indiana) and Jenna Rogers (New Jersey) all exceeding 6 feet.
We saw Smalls and Renner face off back in December where they equaled each others marks at 5-9. Renner was able to improve on that mark last weekend clearing 5-10 to set a new overall PR in the event. Smalls cleared 6-0 a few times last year, and holds a best mark from the NCHSAA 4A State Championships of 6-0.25.
No North Carolina girl has ever cleared 6 feet indoors. Adriane Sims (Byrd) holds the Indoor State Record of 5-11.25. Sims holds the overall state record as well with a 6-1 from the 1997 Outdoor season. Both will be in jeopardy this weekend.
