Q) Talk about the recruitment process - what other schools were you looking at, and how did you come to choosing the Western State?

I was looking at Western and CSU, and reached out to both of there coaches and got a response from Coach Michel and met with her. After meeting with her I felt as if Western would be a great place for me to grow as an athlete and reach my potential in not only my main events but overall.

Q) What do you plan to study at Western?

At Western I plan to study Kinesiology and Exercise Science with a Major in Mathematics as well.

Q) What got you into running in the first place?

This is actually a funny story, back in 5th grade I was playing football and had some college coaches that really loved to make us run. During practice I would come in first every lap that we had to do. This, I like to joke, was my first season of track with pads. This experience lead me to try out for cross country my 6th grade year where I feel in love with running.

Q) You've had success in everything from the 400 on up to the 5k, what would you say is your favorite event, and why?

My favorite event is an ever changing thing and I believe it is really just my perspective on the even at hand. But to give you a definitive answer would be hard because every race is lovable in a different way. But it comes down to the 800 and mile for sure.

Q) What event do you see yourself focusing on at Western?

Honestly, Coach Michel and I have talked a little about this and its still unknown but we have an idea of what I will trying at the collegiate level. All I can give you for sure is that I will be running a couple 8ks this fall.

Q) Could you share any goals you have for the final weeks of the track season?

Some goals that I still look to achieve this season really come down to the state meet. I want to podium in all of the events I will be competing in, but I would also like to run under a 1:57 in the 800.

Q) What would your favorite high school moment be (so far)?

This is a tough one. My favorite memories all come from track but its hard to tell you which one would be my favorite out of all of them. This season has been the most fun in all of my running career, and even though I can be cranky sometimes at track practice it has been a blast running with this team and achieving times with my teammates.
