Eagles Soar High At The Northern League Meet

Less than half an hour after Schubert's big win, Kenadi Krueger made it a Thompson Valley sweep of the individual races.

After a slightly conservative opening mile, the Thompson Valley senior surged hard over the thick, wet grass - in racing flats rather than spikes - and erased all questions of who'd claim the title on this day.

Behind her, sister Olivia Krueger was in chase, but like her sister ahead, she was running off in her own world, as her chasers were far behind as well.

Krueger the Elder wouldn't be caught, not even by her sister, as she went on to a dominating title defense, running 18:40, while Olivia made it a Kreuger 1-2, finishing second in 19:27.

The 1-2 finish from the Krueger sisters would play a large role in the team race, as behind them it appeared to be a hotly contested battle between Thomson Valley and Centaurus.

The Centaurus response to the 1-2 finish from Thompson Valley was to take the next three spots. Maggie McCleskey, Audrey O'Malley, and Grace Armstrong went 3-4-5 to counter. And they weren't done yet.

Katie Hooten nabbed a top-eight finish to give Centaurus four in the top eight, while Natalie Kramer capped out their scoring with an 11th place finish.

Centaurus took the Northern League title over Thompson Valley by nine points
