Q) Talk about the recruitment process - what other schools were you looking at, and how did you come to choosing Air Force?
I also looked at Colorado, Notre Dame, University of Michigan, and Stanford. And I chose Air Force because it suited my personality and life style. Also the coach and team are really spectacular people.
Q) What do you plan to study at Air Force?
I plan to study astronautical or aeronautical engineering.
Q) What event do you see yourself focusing on at Air Force?
As far as I know I will be focusing on the 5k, however I think that steeple would be worth a shot.
Q) The first race we have on your MileSplit account is a 17:55 runner-up finish in the JV race at the Colorado State Frontier Academy Invite from 2016, what do you remember from this race? (Can you share your experience?)
My first race was one of my favorites. For one I didn't even know that flats existed, so I ran in my trainers. Our JV team had a perfect score (and most of them ended up being the scoring runners for our team this year). Ben Morrin and I had a legendary quarter mile kick because we didn't know where the finish was, and it's the only race that have thrown up after. Overall it was a huge learning curve for me and taught me to really love the team.
Q) You've had success in everything from the 800 on up to the 5k, what would you say is your favorite event, and why?
I love the culture and tactics of cross country, but the 800 is my favorite because it is genuinely just a guts race, where all that matters is how hard you push.
Q) What got you interested in running in the first place?
To be honest I started running because I was good at it.
Q) Could you share any goals you have for your senior year?
Goals for senior year is to represent the team and see what contribution I can give to repeating last years success.
Q) What would your favorite high school moment be?
Favorite high school moment: First race. Hands down it made me love the sport.
