Three Predictions For The Season Ahead: 2A

Remington Ross Makes It A 4-Peat In The 100, And Adds 200 State Meet Record To Her Resume

Remington Ross has an unblemished record at State in the 100. She's the three-time defending state champ in the event, and owns the state meet record of 11.84.

100 domination, plus state meet record - check.

The Highland senior is also the two-time defending state champ in the 200, and the defending state champ in the long jump.

She's won enough titles to add "State Champ" to her name - Remington Ross, State Champ.

She's reigned over the competition nearly every step of her high school career, it makes sense that she'll go out with a bang, given one more opportunity to put on a show at JeffCo Stadium.

While she's cemented her name into the history books in the 100, she's only fractions of a second off in adding her name into the 200 as well.

A year ago Ross won the 200 state title in 24.77 - four-hundredths of a second off the state meet record of 24.73.

If her 2020 indoor "season" was any indication of how fit she was heading into the 2020 outdoor season, it's clear that she's ready to tackle the record books once again.

A month ago she dropped a 7.59 60 personal best in the one time she toed the line during the indoor season. In 2019 she hit the indoor track four times in the event, and ran a season-best of 7.71.

That's a tenth-of-a-second faster over 60 meters already.
