Senior Swan Song: Aidan Scott

Name: Aidan Scott

School: Castle View High School

What's your most Memorable Race?

My most memorable race would definitely be when I first broke 10 minutes in the 3200m freshman year. I was super stoked and I really surprised myself that day.

Who would you consider your biggest competition over your four years?

Well I wouldn't say there is one specific person that has been my competition over my high school career. However, I would say my teammates are pretty big competition for me because I'm always pushing myself to stay with them.

What was your greatest accomplishment?

My greatest accomplishment would definitely be when I ran 9:42 in the 3200m last spring. I was really happy with my time and I felt I ran that race perfectly.

If you could do it all over again what would you change about your career in high school?

I would change my sophomore year of cross country and track because I was injured and had some problems both seasons.

What were the most difficult obstacles you had to overcome?

The most difficult obstacle was my stress fracture I had sophomore year. It was really hard for me to see my teammates out running while I was stuck in the pool or on a bike.

What will you miss the most?

I will definitely miss the high school running community the most. Everyone I have met in the sport has been really nice and has given me inspiration to keep running and pushing myself.

What advice would you give to younger athletes?

If you put in the work and work hard then that training will pay off and you will see improvement in your performances.

What influence has your coach had with respect to your performance and overall life goals?

My coaches have definitely influenced me in many, many ways. They have helped me push myself in workouts and helped give me the confidence to race fast. As well as showed me that with hard work you can get everywhere in life.

What are your college plans?

I will be attending Western Colorado University studying exercise physiology and kinesiology. As well as running for their cross country and track team.

Who would you like to say 'thank you' to?

I would like to thank my friends, family, parents, and coaches who have all influenced and helped me though out my high school career.

Anything else you'd like to add?

I would like to add that throughout everyone's career there are many ups and downs and it's not about the end result, but about how you attack those obstacles and overcome them. That is what makes you a better athlete and person in the future.
