Colorado Virtual Meets for the Decade Spanning 2010 through 2019
Blake Yount set a Colorado all-time record in the 800 meters in 2015.
Since there's no real track and field to be had right now, it might be worth looking at what a virtual track meet of the past decade (2010-19) looks like. Among other things, it reminds of us some great athletes of years gone by, gives us a clear idea of who many of the top teams were, and gives us a little of the sense that we're back at track and field again.
What I did was to take all the in-state performances during the CHSAA-sanctioned seasons of the last ten years and score them as a normal meet (10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1). I used only wind-legal performances in the 100, 200, 100/110H, LJ, and TJ, though I did not retain the wind readings in the scoring shown below.
Out-of-state performances were eliminated due to the obvious advantage of running at lower altitude than Colorado provides. Out-of-season performances were eliminated so that this would be strictly a scholastic kind of virtual meet.
Team scoring is shown at the bottom. The top teams won't surprise you much, but you may be surprised by how close the scoring is at the top.

A big shout-out to Fountain-Ft. Carson for the win. Related to that, F-FC head coach Ben Montoya was due to be inducted into the Colorado High School Coaches Association Hall of Fame on March 28. The coronavirus outbreak, however, put a temporary set of brakes on that induction. The induction has been rescheduled for late July.
