Flashback Friday: Mia Manson Claims USATF JO PV Title

It's Flashback Friday!

A year ago Mia Manson went into beast-mode at the UASTF Junior Olympic Championships in Sacramento, Cali., in what was her best performance of the 2019 season.

Manson captured the pole vault national title with a season best of 13-1.5. It was her first time over the magical 13-foot marker in the 2019 season, which was a season she called a "rough year" in the pole vault.

It was a season-long battle back from injury, where she opened the 2019 indoor season with an 10-0, and 11-0 outdoors. After entering the 2019 state meet in the unfamiliar role of the underdog - despite being the two-time defending state champ - she rose to the occasion and recaptured her third state title in the event.

In the weeks and months following the state meet Manson continued to gradually claw her way back to peak fitness, clearing 12-8.25 the week before AAU.

Manson won the 17-18 national title with a 13-1.5, which was the first time she's cleared 13 feet since indoors 2018.
