Jenna Hutchins had herself one heckuva race on Saturday at the Music City Distance Carnival.

The Science Hill High School junior, who just began her junior season, ran a US No. 3 all-time mark of 9:49.83 in a spectacular effort in Nashville that saw the Tennessee athlete drop two back-to-back sub-5 minute miles together on the track.

While it stands just two seconds behind Katelyn Tuohy's all-time mark of 9:47.88, which the North Rockland High School graduate accomplished in 2018, the new time goes down as a junior class record and a new 16-year-old age group record, passing Katelynne Hart's mark of 9:52.02 from 2018.

It also comes just months after Brynn Brown's time trial of 9:39.38, which she accomplished in June during quarantine.

Hutchins was in a league of her own Saturday, hitting sub-5 splits against a field that was simply trying to keep up. Flower Mound's Natalie Cook would finish second in 10:16.07 while Niwot's Mia Prok was third in 10:20:18.

The effort marks an incredible year-over-year improvement from Hutchins, who ran 10:15.39 in 2019. As a sophomore, she also ran 4:43.33 in the full mile at this same event last year.

Boys Race: New Jersey native Jackson Braddock became one of two boys to break 9 minutes for 3,200m on Saturday at the Music City Distance Carnival, winning the boys division in a US No. 3 time of 8:54.02.

Braddock, a senior at Southern Regional, outlasted Izaiah Steury, who followed in a US No. 5 effort of 8:57.17.
