The 2021 Colorado outdoor track & field season may already seem like a long way off, but as of Monday the season is slated to be delayed even longer.
Per a CHSAA press release, Season B, which was scheduled to start Jan. 4, has been delayed due to statewide rising COVID-19 cases.
The delay of the winter sports season pushes Season C, and Season D - which includes outdoor track and field - back further.
The current proposed CHSAA sports calendar now has the 2021 outdoor track & field season scheduled to start May 10, with practice resuming May 3, and conclude seven weeks later - by June 26.
Originally the season was scheduled to start April 26.
