The Colorado State T&F Championships 2A Preview

In the sprints there are two names that dominate.

And that's Mikayla Hutchison, and Jordan Burnett

They are the top two-seeds in the 100, and the 200. Hutchinson and Burnett are entered in several events.

In the 100 Hutchinson is the No. 1 seed with a 12.45 season-best. Burnett is the No. 2 seed with a 12.61, which is just ahead of Dixie Rhea's 12.63.

On paper the rolls are reversed in the 200, with Burnett the top-seed. Her 25.65 is just ahead of Hutchinson's 25.74.

Already, it's evident that we've got two big battles on tap.

The 100 final is scheduled for Saturday at 10:30 a.m., while the 200 final is scheduled for Saturday at 1:10 p.m.

As close of the 100 and 200 races look, Burnett is a clear favorite to claim the 400. Her 54.66 tops the field by nearly five-seconds.

Likewise, Isabel Case is the top-seed in the 800 by five-seconds. She's run 2:22.92 this season.

The 1,600 looks like a much closer battle, however. The top-six entries have run within three-seconds of each other, meaning that this race could have a wild finish.

Quin Gregg is the No. 1 seed with a season-best of 5:38.30, which is just ahead of Eowyn Dalbec's 5:38.99. Eliana CaucuttLindsey WhittonAddison Beuche, and Zaila Smith all have run 5:41 and change.

The 1,600 final is scheduled for Saturday at 11:10 a.m.

The 3,200 doesn't look as tight on paper, but it's sure to be a battle. Buena Vista has the opportunity to sweep the top-two spots here, as Smith is the top-seed with a 11:58 personal best. It's the lone sub-12 clocking of the season, so far. Teammate Mallory Salazar is the No. 2 seed with a 12:08 season-best.

Eboselulu Omofoma is fresh off her 15.45 100 Hurdles - a PR and the top-seed in the event. Megan Jenkins is the only other hurdler within a second of Omofoma, with a 15.81 best, while Hutchinson is the No. 3 seed with a 16.46.

The 300H looks a lot like the 1,600 - meaning a tight race.

Hutchinson, Jenkins, and Kiley Geiser all share the same second, with Hutchinson on top of the rankings. She's run 47.03 in the event. Jenkins is the No. 2 seed again, having run 47.30, while Geiser has run 47.78 this season.

Mary Scoggins is the top-seed in triple jump, though she'll likely have company from Alison Rajzer. Scoggins in the No. 1 seed with a PR of 35-0.25, which is just ahead of Rajzer's 34-11.

Meanwhile, Hannah Turpin is a clear favorite to claim the long jump. The St. Mary's sophomore has leapt to 18-0.25 this season, which is the top-seed by over a foot.

On the other side of the spectrum, the high jump looks like it could be a hotly contested event. Omofoma is the top-seed with a 5-3 PR. Though she'll have Alexus Rigg, along with Anika McCownEva Bellot, and Jaysa Even to push the bar higher. Rigg is the No. 2 seed with a season-best of 5-2, while McCown, Bellot, and Even have cleared 5-2.

The pole vault looks to be in the hands of Hannah Grover. She's cleared 10-0 this season, which is about nine-inches above the competition.

Holyoke could sweep the throws - with two different throwers.

Correy Koellner is the top-seed in the shot put with a season-best of 39-0.75, while Lauren Herman is the top-seed in the discus with a season-best of 122-0.

The overall team title could go down to the 4x400s - it could be that tight, depending on how everything plays out. Cedaredge looks like the early favorite, though Banning Lewis Prep could challenge for the title.
