In looking ahead, 2023 looks a lot like 2022, sort of. Or - at least on top.
Per the trend over the past few years, Niwot returns another stellar squad. While there's another three or four weeks left of racing for their varsity, they 4A state champions already return three who have broken 18 minutes this season, and five who have run 18:10 or faster. They own a 17:54 regular-season 1-5 average, and a insanely 1-5 split of just 30-seconds.
Though it's likely they'll be challenging those numbers in the coming weeks... They graduate just two from their top-seven, and one out of their top-four.
