In the first edition of Colorado Future Stars we'll take a look at a few standout freshmen performances.
Colorado, meet Kobe Dooley!
Dooley is no stranger to the track - he's been spiking up for for nearly six years. And now he's hit the track as a freshman at Vista Ridge, and he's already come out of the blocks on fire.
Dooley won the 200 at the CSU-Pueblo Early-Bird in 22.96 - that's currently a Colorado No. 9, and leads the freshmen class by just under a second.
Last summer Dooley finished starred at the 2022 USATF Colorado Junior Olympic Track & Field Championships, finished second in the 100 in a wind-aided 10.96, second in the 200, and winning the 400 in 49.84.
Several weeks later he ran 10.97 in the prelims at the USATF Region 10 Junior Olympic Championships - he also ran a 200 personal best of 22.24 in the 200 at this meet.
Dooley is currently the No. 1 freshman in the 100 and the 200.
Clearly, he's someone to keep an eye on this season!
