December 2.

Remember the date.

This year, that's when the RunningLane XC Championships will take place at John Hunt Park in Huntsville, Alabama. The fourth installment of this fast-growing event is back for another big-time showdown featuring a selection of the top athletes in the country.

Three years ago, the fastest girls time in high school history went down. A year later, it was the fastest boys time -- and that race also featured the best team in high school history, Newbury Park.

A year ago, things were different. Rain and mud came, slowing the course. But it didn't dampen the mood, which saw thousands of runners battle through the conditions -- in true XC form -- before gold race winners Payton Godsey and Steven West appeared and were later crowned.

This meet is truly one of the best season-ending championships you will find.

It is also the biggest single national championship event in terms of enrollment size compared to any other event in December. Athletes from all across the U.S. fly into Huntsville for a chance to compete across bronze, silver and gold races.

It's also, as you can tell, one of the fastest cross country courses in America -- if not the fastest.

Are you ready to test yourself this year? We're only eight weeks away. PR'Ville is waiting.
