Colorado Girls Performer of the Week (April 7-12)

Congratulations to Natalie Washburn of Timnath High School for winning last week's performer of the week! Here are the nominations for this week. Make sure to get your votes in by Friday, April 18th at Midnight!

Kiana Cumings, Windsor High School: Through a dominant performance in both the 200m and the 400m at the Pomona Invitational, running two meet records and two Colorado-leading times, Cumings earns a nomination for this week. She ran 24.31 and 55.27, winning both races and putting herself nicely in the lead of the rest of Colorado.

Braelyn Bailey, Roosevelt High School: Bailey achieved the meet record at the Pomona Invitational, jumping 5-8 in high jump to take the top spot in Colorado and put her tied for 27th in the whole nation. This jump is also already higher than the top mark in all of Colorado last year, putting Bailey in a good spot this part of the season.

Delaney Reuter, Eaton High School: There were some other big meets taking place this past weekend, including the Arcadia Invitational, where Reuter ran an impressive time of 10:18 in the 3200m. This time puts her at the top spot in Colorado and puts her 9th overall in the entire country in the event.

Reese Kasper, Niwot High School: Earning her 2nd nomination for the performer of the week is Kasper, who had an impressive hurdles performance at the Boulder County Track Championship. Kasper ran 14.22 to just sneak ahead in the Colorado rankings in the 100m hurdles. She also ran another PR in the 300m hurdles, racing to a time of 42.19, which is ranked 19th in the whole nation.

Abigail Nehring, Pagosa Springs High School: The first girl in Colorado to throw over 140 feet in discus goes to Nehring, who threw 142-10 at the Thunder-Storm Invitational. Her throw puts her a top all of Colorado and quite a ways ahead of anyone else in Class 3A.
