Though he may only be a sophomore, Micah Sheehan of Northfield High School has a the leading time in the 400m in Colorado. At the Pomona Invitational, Sheehan ran an incredible time of 48.04 in the final to take the win. Before that, Sheehan ran 49.13 in the preliminaries, his first time under 50 seconds.
Sheehan has already improved by a huge margin from last year, where his best time was 50.11. He also finished 11th at the state track meet with a time of 50.27. His strength may be in the 400m, but he currently has a personal best time of 22.07 in the 200m as well.
Sheehan has some national attention too after this past weekend. His time of 48.04 is ranked 9th overall in the whole nation for sophomores. With the season still only in April, sub-48 seconds is only imminent for this young track star.
