The discus ring has also seen tons of improvements on the girls' side. At the top of the list is Mackinzy Wall of Manitou Springs High School, who has improved by a staggering 31-10. Last season, she threw 110-9 and this year she has thrown 142-7! Not only does this put her at #2 in 3A, but it puts her near the top of the list in all of Colorado at #4.
The next name on this list that has made massive improvements is Meron Hoffman of Vista Ridge High School. Last season, she never got out over 100 feet and now this season, she is consistently over that barrier. She has improved by 27-6 going from 89-5 to 116-11 so far this year. 
Finally, we have Sofie Papizzo of Grandview High School, who recently threw 97-8 getting incredibly close to the 100 foot barrier. Nevertheless, her previous best from last season was 71-2, making her improvement 26-6. She only threw the discus twice last year, so her rate of growth could be extremely high as she continues to learn the event.
