Colorado Highlights From National Indoor Meets

The twin high school indoor national championship meets are now in the books. As best as I can tell, Colorado was represented by four athletes in Boston at Nike Indoor Nationals and by one athlete in New York City at the National Scholastic Indoor Championships.

In Boston, Trevor Brown (Speed T & F) took home Colorado's highest finish with a 7.91 in the 60 hurdles, good enough for second. Brown continues a fairly remarkable recent trend of Colorado hurdlers taking home high finishes at the national indoor meets.

Running unattached, Eleanor Fulton clocked a 4:48.10 mile to finish third in that event. Although Fulton will have to contend with thinner air competing this spring in Colorado, that time still marks her as the person to beat in the 1600 in Colorado's outdoor season.

Elsewhere, MaryBeth Sant (Colorado Flyers) advanced all the way to the semifinals before bowing out of the competition in the 60 meter dash. Kobi Rex (Speed T & F) cleared 6-4.25, a few inches below what he's been jumping on a consistent basis the last couple of months, to finish in a tie for 7th in the high jump.

At the National Scholastic Indoor Championships, Roblet Muhudin struggled some by way of comparison to his typical performances, running 2:03.14 in the 800 and 4:34.17 in the mile.
