CO Girls New Balance RunningLane XC Championship Preview

The New Balance RunningLane XC Championship will take place on Saturday, December 6th at Huntsville, Alabama! Here are the names to look out for on the girls' side for Colorado!

The highlight of the field will be Mountain Vista High School, who will be competing for the team title in the championship race. The team just finished 5th overall at the Nike Southwest Regional Championship after finishing 4th at the CO Class 5A XC State Championship. They will be led by Claire Guiberson, who just ran 17:23 at the Nike Southwest Regional Championship, placing 14th. She has a PR of 16:48 from earlier in the year, so she will be one to watch near the front of the pack. Addison Baker will also look to help out her team after a strong finish at NXR Southwest. She ran a new PR of 17:57 to place 38th overall in the championship division. This time was a season's best by over 20 seconds from her Liberty Bell time, so she may be peaking just at the right time to help out her team.!

Addison Michalak of Palmer Ridge High School is also coming in with a lot of momentum, after she won her race at the Nike Southwest Regional. She ran 18:03 to win her section of the Medium School division and placed 2nd overall after both sections were combined. This freshman also did exceptionally well in the Class 4A division at the cross country state meet, placing 3rd overall! Finally, she comes in with a PR of 17:38, which she ran earlier in the season. Continuing on the momentum train, Savannah Fernandez of Broomfield High School is also looking to run another PR after her fantastic performance at NXR Southwest! Fernandez, who is also a freshman, ran in the championship division and did not shy away from the competition. She ended up running 17:52 to place 35th overall in the competitive division.
