Several Colorado high school athletes set personal records at meets held March 12-14! Check out who made some big jumps from the past weekend!
Jacob Ball, Eaton High School: Ball jumped 21-11.5 in the long jump at the Murray Kula Invitational, improving by almost three feet from his previous best of 18-11.75! The junior's mark ranks #8 in Colorado and #2 among juniors. Ball also set a personal record in the triple jump with 41-11, up from 39-10.5.
Gage Pieper, Golden High School: At the ThunderRidge Invitational, Pieper cleared 16-0 in the pole vault breaking his previous personal record of 14-4. The junior's mark is a Golden High School record and ranks #2 in the state and #1 among juniors!
Nickolas Jay, Dakota Ridge High School: Jay threw 45-6.5 in the shot put at the ThunderRidge Invitational, improving by almost seven feet from his previous best of 38-11.25! The senior placed second among 66 competitors and ranks #23 in Colorado.
Amadis Cardenas, The Classical Academy: Cardenas cleared 5-2 in the high jump at The Banana Belt Classic, improving from her previous best of 4-10 set in March 2026! The sophomore is tied for 8th in the state and tied for #3 among sophomores.
Cooper Pesta, Cherry Creek High School: Pesta ran 15.75 in the 110-meter hurdles at the ThunderRidge Invitational, dropping his time from 16.63. The junior also set a personal record in the 300-meter hurdles with 40.04, improving from 41.18!
Kai Robinson, Legend High School: At the LPS Spring Break Duals, Robinson ran 50.56 in the 400 meters, improving from 52.67 set in April 2025. The junior ranks #13 in Colorado and #1 among juniors!
Devyn Ellington, Evergreen High School: Ellington ran 12.29 in the 100 meters at the ThunderRidge Invitational, improving from 12.63. The senior's mark is an Evergreen High School record and ranks #8 in the state for all-conditions! She also set a personal record in the 200 meters running 26.02.
Brenna Jorde, Mountain Vista High School: She ran 17:13.39 in the 5000 meters at Nike Indoor Nationals, improving from 17:32.65. The senior ranks #1 in Colorado for the indoor 5k and also set a personal record in the 2-mile running 10:44.22!
Faith Fox, Conifer High School: Fox ran 14.79 in the 100-meter hurdles at the ThunderRidge Invitational, improving from 15.00. The senior's mark is a Conifer High School record, ranks #4 in the state for all-conditions, and earned her first place among 38 competitors! Fox also ran 12.63 in the 100 meters.
Gwen Grumbles, Rocky Mountain High School: At the Murray Kula Invitational, Grumbles cleared 11-0 in the pole vault, improving from 10-10. The senior won the event and is tied at #3 for the state of Colorado!
