Zach Statz, Haxtun High School: Statz is currently ranked #1 for Class 1A in both the 100m and the 200m with times of 11.18 and 22.76! Both those times are personal bests for Statz, showing a lot of good momentum going into the rest of the season. He finished 2nd overall in the 100m at the state meet and 6th overall in the 200m and based on his improvement so far this season, Statz is looking like one of the main favorites to place well at the state meet in the short sprints!
Parker Arbuthnot, Springfield High School: For the distance races, Arbuthnot is the returning state champion in the 800m, 1600m, and the 3200m and so far this season he is showing a lot of potential to repeat once again as champion in all three events! So far this season, Arbuthnot is #1 in the 800m and 1600m with times of 2:01 and 4:41. He has yet to race the 3200m this season, but has a personal best of 10:03, making him one of the favorites for that event as well.
Joshua Hamm, Pikes Peak Christian: Hamm is currently #1 for Class 1A in the 3200m, running a huge personal best time of 10:22 in the event! He also has run PRs in the 800m of 2:18 and in the 1600m of 4:57 so far this season. Hamm is ranked #7 in the 1600m along with his top ranking in the 3200m.
Brady Terrell, Idalia High School: Terrell placed 3rd overall at the state meet in the 400m and placed 9th overall in the 800m, and he has already started off his season incredibly strong. He has run times of 52.95 in the 400m and 2:10 in the 800m. Though both of these times are a little off of his personal bests, they are both strong openers for Terrell, and he is #1 in the 400m for Class 1A!
Ethan Tesman, Elbert High School: Tesman is currently #1 in the 110m hurdles running a big personal best by almost a second! He ran 16.09 to take the top spot in Class 1A. He also competed quite well in the high jump, getting over the bar at 6-5 this past weekend. He is also currently #2 in that event and is the returning state champion in high jump and will look to defend his title.
Weathers, Lone Star High School: Weathers is currently ranked #1 in a handful of events including the 300m hurdles and the pole vault; he is also ranked #3 in the 110m hurdles. During the 2025 season, Weathers won the 300m hurdles and the pole vault and placed 2nd overall in the 110m hurdles! So far this season, he has run 16.33 in the 110m hurdles, 43.28 in the 300m hurdles and 13-6 in the pole vault, sitting very close to his personal best marks.
Javin Summers, Swink High School: Summers is one of the top jumpers in the state of Colorado and has some of the best marks in the long jump, triple jump, and the high jump! He is currently #1 in all three events for Class 1A with marks of 6-6 in the high jump, 22-4.5 in the long jump, and 44-7.5 in the triple jump. All three marks are wind legal personal bests and definitely puts him as the favorite to win three state titles!
Jett Konkel, Springfield High School: The throws events are always incredibly competitive in Class 1A and so far Konkel is ranked #1 in shot put with a throw of 47-2, which is only a few inches off of his personal best of 48-7.5. That PR earned him the state title in the event! He also placed 3rd overall in discus at the state meet with a throw of 146-7. He is currently ranked #5 in discus with his season best of 133-10.
Carl Hughett, Elbert High School: The top spot for the discus so far this season goes to Hughett, who has thrown 148-9 to start off the 2026 season. Hughett has a personal best of 154-5 and finished 4th overall at the state meet! Based on his personal best marks and how he has competed this season, Hughett is one of the favorites to win the title.
Felipe Mungaray, McClave High School: So far this season, Mungaray has hit a big personal best in the discus, throwing 148-3, and he is currently ranked #2 for Class 1A! He is also not too far off of his personal best in the shot put of 45-0. So far this season, he threw 44-5 and is ranked #4 in the Class 1A rankings.
