Joe Duenas, Roosevelt Middle School: So far this season, Duenas is the top 6th grader in the 100m! He has run 12.79 and 12.80 this season and though he has yet to race in another event, he has shown a lot of potential to perform well in the other sprint events.
Micah Pena, Manitou Springs Middle School: In his first meet of the season, Pena is the top 6th grader in the 200m and the 400m! He ran times of 27.94 for the 200m and 1:04 in the 400m.
Sean Kaster, Manitou Springs Middle School: From the same school as Pena, Kaster currently holds the top time for 6th graders in the 800m, running 2:39! He also competed in the high jump, gettin over the bar at 4-2.
Benji Stratton, Heritage Christian Academy: Stratton currently has the top time in the 1600m, running a very strong time of 5:41! He has the top time in the event for the 6th grade. He also competed in a handful of other events including the 800m, 200m, and long jump.
Jayte Ramage, Montezuma-Cortez Middle School: Ramage has the top time for 6th graders in the 110m hurdles, running a time of 21.16! Considering how technical hurdles are, that is a strong time for someone first learning the event and we should see big improvements throughout the season.
Jax Cordova, Eads Middle School: In his first track meet of the season, Cordova competed in the high jump and got over the bar at 4-6! He is the top ranked athlete for 6th graders in the event.
Dylan Wilcox, Liberty Common Middle School: Wilcox is the top ranked 6th grader in the triple jump achieving a mark of 29-8.5! He also competed in the 1600m, running a time of 6:15 which is #7 for the grade.
Jaxson Hutto, Edison Middle School: Hutto competed in both the shot put and the discus this weekend hitting marks of 22-4.75 in the shot put and 78-5 in the discus! He is ranked #5 for 6th graders in shot put and #1 for discus!
Adam Ramirez, Bethune Junior High: The top 6th grader in shot put so far this season goes to Ramirez who threw 24-9! He has also competed in a handful of sprint events running 14.66 in the 100m and 31.31 in the 200m.
Micky O'Neil, Akron Junior High School: The pole vault is a very technical event but the fact O'Neil is already competing in the event as a 6th grader is very impressive. He is #1 for his class and got over the bar at 5-6!
