2026 CHSAA OUTDOOR STATE MEET
Congratulations to DJ Ruff of Fort Collins High School for winning last week's performer of the week after running a state-leading time of 20.92 in the 200m! Make sure to get your votes in for this week's performer of the week by Thursday, May 14th at 11:59pm MT for the last regular season poll!
Jay McDonald, Summit High School: McDonald ran one of the top times ever run on Colorado soil for a high school athlete in the 1600m, running a time of 4:06! He won the HOKA St. Vrain Invitational in the process, beating some of the best distance runners in the state of Colorado to earn that time.
Ernest Fields, Denver West High School: Fields ran 21.57 in the 200m to win the event at the East Angels Fulton Memorial Invitational, putting him at #1 for Class 3A and #7 overall in the state of Colorado in the event! His 200m time was a huge personal best and he also ran a wind-legal PR in the 100m of 10.82 at the same meet.
Samuel Inama, Palmer Ridge High School: Inama won the discus at the Teddy's Last Chance Qualifier with a new personal best mark of 170-1! With that throw and new personal best, he is #3 in all of Colorado and #2 in Class 4A.
Joshua Stewart, Cherokee Trail High School: Stewart ran two huge personal bests in the hurdles events at the Centennial League Championship running a wind-aided 13.53 to finish 1st overall in the 110m hurdles and running 36.97 in the 300m hurdles to finish 2nd overall! He also ran 13.97 in the preliminary round of the 110m hurdles, placing him #3 in Colorado for both hurdle events.
Tavion Cross, Mesa Ridge High School: At the very competitive HOKA St. Vrain Invitational, Cross won the long jump in a mark of 23-5.75! His jump was a personal best by over a foot and places him #4 in all of Colorado! He is also now ranked #3 in Class 4A.
