Jude Ritzenhein, Niwot High School: Ritzenhein competed in the most competitive class for distance running and was the fastest freshman in both the 800m and the 1600m at the state meet! He ran 1:55 in the 800m to placed 13th overall. He then ran 4:12 in the 1600m to get on the podium and finish in 7th.
Ryder Green, Rocky Mountain High School: The top 9th grader at the state meet in the discus was Green, who placed 6th overall in Class 5A! He ended up throwing 155-2, which gives him the best throw for his grade in all of Colorado for the season!
Finn Higgins, Grandview High School: Higgins hit a new personal best in the high jump at the state meet to place 3rd overall in Class 5A for the event! He jumped 6-6 to earn 3rd place, and he is the top freshman in the state by 4 inches! He is also ranked #6 in the whole state.
Kian Piddington, Resurrection Christian High School: Piddington hit a new personal best mark of 14-1 in the pole vault to place 4th overall in Class 3A! His mark also puts him #1 for all freshmen in the state by almost a foot over the next best freshman.
Kolton Radford, Stratton High School: Radford was one of the best freshman at the state meet in the triple jump, getting out to 40-5.5! That mark was good enough for 5th place in Class 1A and ranks him #8 in all of Colorado for the 9th grade class.
Marcello Jaramillo, Arapahoe High School: The sophomore class really showed out at the state meet, starting with Jaramillo, who won the Class 5A individual title in the 100m! He ran a time of 10.49 to win that title and defeated other strong contenders in the field.
Phoenix Tomsick, Ralston Valley High School: Continuing the trend, Tomsick won the Class 5A 200m title even though he is only a sophomore, running a time of 21.16! His time is #3 in all of Colorado this season and was a brand new personal best.
Preston Mozer, Fort Collins High School: Mozer had a very busy state meet, helping his team to two titles in the 4x100m and 4x200m relay. He also did well individually, running 21.70 in the 200m finals to finish 7th overall, and he ran a huge personal best in the 400m to place 2nd in Class 5A with a time of 47.25!
David Roberts, Roosevelt High School: Roberts really stepped up for his team even though he is only a sophomore, placing very well in Class 4A for the 3200m! He also had the confidence to take the lead on the last lap and still ended up 3rd overall in the most competitive classification for distance running with a time of 9:14! He also placed 9th in the 1600m running 4:13.
Joshua Stewart, Cherokee Trail High School: Stewart also won an individual title in the 110m hurdles for Class 5A, running a wind-aided time of 13.68! The sophomore then went on to place 7th in the 300m hurdles with a time of 39.11 and was a part of the 4x100m and 4x200m relays that placed 8th and 7th respectively.
Zazi Wolfrum, Bear Creek High School: Class 5A may be dominated by sophomores, because Wolfrum also won an individual title in the triple jump for the classification. He was the only person to jump over 48 feet in Colorado this season getting out to 48-3.75! He also placed 6th in long jump with a mark of 22-.75.
