Colorado cross country had plenty to talk about this weekend.
Another big performance from Abdinasir Hassan at Pat Patten, the Boulder girls showcase their strength once more, Castle View tests itself against national-level competition at the Great American XC Festival and several of the state's top athletes and teams delivered.
Here are some highlights from the weekend.
Hassan Strikes Again At Pat Patten
Abdinasir Hassan continues to be on an absolute tear. The Northfield junior showcased another dominant performance at the Pat Patten Invitational, running 14:43.5 to take the individual win by more than 30 seconds.
Chaparral senior Tommy Gamlin would finish runner-up in 15:14.2, while Northfield's Ayuub Hassan took third in 15:26.4.

Fairview's Colton Goucher and Zach Bean rounded out the top five in 15:31.0 and 15:41.9.
While Hassan controlled the individual race, Mountain Vista took the team title, scoring 43 points to Northfield's 63.
Boulder Goes 1-2 At Home

On the girls side at Pat Patten, Boulder defended its home turf.
Junior Calia Vaughn took the individual victory in 17:48.9, while teammate Sophie Roza followed in second at 17:57.5.
Fossil Ridge's Avery Breitigam was close behind in third at 17:58.8. Rock Canyon's Mila Cimbura finished fourth in 18:17.7, with Northfield's Larsen DeCamp fifth in 18:24.2.
Boulder's top end strength carried into the team standings. The Panthers scored just 37 points to take the team title, continuing their strong season. Fairview finished runner-up with 83 points
Castle View Takes Fifth At Great American
Castle View took its season across the country and came away with a fifth-place finish in the Boys COROS Race of Champions at the Great American XC Festival.
The Sabercats scored 232 points against a strong field and were led by Evan Dann, with a 14:55 performance to finish ninth overall.

Christ School controlled the team race, scoring just 83 points to take the victory. The North Carolina program finished seventh at Nike Cross Nationals last fall.
Doherty Boys Sweep The Top Three At Pine Creek
At the Pine Creek Invitational, hosted at Monument Valley Park, Doherty controlled the front of the boys race.
Senior Darin Marschall took the victory in 15:41.87, followed closely by teammates Zachary Chevalier in 15:44.80 and Alexander Kokes in 15:44.89. Just 3.02 seconds separated Doherty's top three. Doherty scored 29 points to capture the team title.

Palmer Ridge finished runner-up with 37 points behind fourth-place Benjamin Olds (15:46.11) and fifth-place Axel Mason (15:54.15).
Stoughton Wins, Palmer Ridge Girls Takes Team Title
The girls individual race at Pine Creek came down to the wire. Discovery Canyon junior Griffin Stoughton took the victory in 18:36.09, edging Mullen sophomore Madeleine Dimelow, who finished just over a second behind in 18:37.24.

Fountain-Fort Carson's Jocilyn Smithhart took third in 19:03.58, followed by Pine Creek's Lily Tong in 19:07.94 and Palmer Ridge's Addison Michalak in 19:20.68.
In the team race, Palmer Ridge came away with the victory, scoring 54 points. Rampart finished runner-up with 104.
Another Big Weekend In Colorado
From North Carolina back to Colorado, there was no shortage of action. Hassan struck again at Pat Patten. Castle View tested itself against a loaded field at Great American. Boulder swept the top two spots on its home course and a took the girls team title. Doherty put three across the line before anyone else at Pine Creek.
With Octobers arrival, the postseason is inching closer, and Colorado's top teams and individuals are beginning to show where they stand.
