While the Aspen girls are more than adept at running the mountainous terrain of Colorado, their performance on Wednesday suggested that flat and fast is just fine with the Skiers, too. Aspen placed 4 girls in the top 15 and walked ran away with top honors at the regional championships. Tayler Qiest finished in 6th, Ryley Sutton finished in 11th, Ellie Parker finished in 12th, and Lily Isaacson finished in 13th to give Aspen a team score of 42. With only 4 teams making their way to State out of the region, Bayfield, Hotchkiss, Gunnison and Pagosa Springs went to battle.
When the dust had settled, Bayfield earned the 2nd place position with a gutsy 2nd place finish by Eva Edwards and 9th place finish by Nicole Cyr. Hotchkiss was just 3 point behind with Natalie And...
