It's tough to pass on an opportunity to compete at the oversized indoor track at the US Air Force Academy. Easily the best indoor venue in the state, with first-rate field event facilities as well, it annually produces some of the top high school indoor marks in the nation. Today was no exception.
Dior Hall was the first to break new ground. Hall went 8.45 in the preliminaries, then followed up with an 8.38 in finals to smash to meet record and extend her lead in the national rankings in that event to a full quarter second. The old record of 8.53 belonged to Kami Mendez, who was down in Houston, Texas, running hurdles this weekend.
But it wasn't long before meet records began falling leaves. Dylan Bell of Texas took the pole vault record to 15-6. Rikki Gonzales took the girls 800 record down to 2:18.12 ...
