National Champion, #3 All-Time 60 Hurdles

At Simplot, Dior Hall got mixed up with a hurdle. This time, the race was flawless. Photo by Tim O'Dowd.

National indoor 60 meter hurdle champion.

US #3 all-time high school indoor 60 meter hurdle mark.

US sophomore class record. Set and reset in the same meet.

That's a lot of titles for one young lady to carry.

Whatever disappointment Dior Hall may have felt over the Simplot Games finish, she came back in the biggest possible way at New Balance Nationals Indoor on Sunday. Her time of 8.19 ranks behind only two high school marks ever posted in the event. Both of those marks were posted by Jackie Coward out of Tennessee, who now hurdles for the University of Central Florida. Coward's best marks in the event were posted as a senior (8.16) and as a junior (8.17). That means Hall's time was precisely .03 off the national high school record.

Second place? Quite a ways back in terms of 60 meter hurdle spacing. Second place was Sasha Williams out of California at 8.35.

There is undoubtedly much yet to come from this distinguished competitor.

In other Colorado action (seeded events only) at New Balance Nationals Indoor, Christine Scott missed advancing out of prelims in both events, but ran 24.73 in the 200 and 7.90 in the 60. Danielle Williams finished 11th in the triple jump with a mark of 38-11.5. Unfortunately, this was well behind her season-best marks for the triple. Mackenzie Comstock also competed in the triple jump, finishing 31st with a leap of 35-6.
