Make no mistake about it, the top half of teams in the Tri-Peaks League is vastly improved over what it was a year ago. TheTri-Peaks League should be very well reprented at state in a few days.
The league meet team titles made for a familiar story, both going to The Classical Academy, but along the way, there were several spirited battles, and perhaps none more spirited than three of the relays.
Almost midway through the meet, the boys 4x200s lined up with TCA in lane four. Somebody, however, forgot to tell Manitou Springs in lane five that lane four is supposed to win. The Mustangs busted out a state-qualifying mark and edged the Titans in a thrilling finish over the last 100 meters to finish in 1:32.78.
If the Titans were thinking that was the end of the ambush, they were wrong. The meet closed out with two stirring 4x400s. The girls...
