Similar to what we did with the boys version of this article, I tried to look beyond straight-up times (which are nearly as much a function of courses and dates as they are of the actual abilities of the athletes in question) and tried to delve deeper into figuring out which 12 were making the biggest contributions to their teams. There is some regret that there is room for difference of opinion on these selections. It would all be nicer and cleaner, though not nearly as interesting, if there were an objective, cut-and-dried procedure for detemining things such as this.
In no particular order, here is my list for the 12 freshmen having the biggest impacts on their respective teams this fall:
