Despite a warning posted on this site as early as this summer, somebody has been feeding the Bears.
And those Bears went on a rampage at Fountain-Fort Carson High School Thursday afternoon. They've learned a few tricks on their way through the season as well. Normally mostly solitary creatures, these Bears ran in a pack good enough to make your local league of feral dogs drool with envy. If you hear of dogs enrolling in online courses at Palmer Ridge High School, now you know the explanation.
When all was said and done, the Palmer Ridge team had claimed a very convincing regional championship. And they did it with top five times that ranged from Eric Hamer's 16:13 to Tommy Herebic's 17:05. That should give something for the rest of 4A to gnaw on for a week. If Palmer Ridge didn't look like a legitimate contender a week ago, there's a different song playing on jukebox now.
