In order to be in compliance with CHSAA this year, CSML-South League Schools will be the only teams allowed at the event. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
2020 CANON CITY Cross Country Invite at the Royal Gorge Bridge
COVID19 Edition
Your team is invited to participate in the annual Canon City Cross Country Invitational. The meet will be held on Friday, September 25, 2020 and will take place at the Royal Gorge Bridge and Park. The park is located approximately eight miles west of town off of highway 50. The race will run through a portion of the park and finish across the bridge on the South Side. Through agreement with the Royal Gorge masked and socially distanced spectators will be given a discounted price into the Bridge after 3:30 p.m. If spectators choose not to do this, they can wait in the parking lot. At the conclusion of the race spectators that have paid will have some time to walk around the park if they wish. This will hopefully also allow some kids that have never seen the Royal Gorge to experience something amazing! There will not be time for rides, etc. that day, but hopefully they can get a little taste of what the Royal Gorge Park has to offer.
The schedule of races for the day will be as follows:
4:00 p.m. Boys Wave 1 4:05 p.m. Boys Wave 2
4:45 p.m. Girls Wave 1 4:50 p.m. Girls Wave 2
*50 Athlete Limit per gender with each team allowed 7 runners per gender.
*Athletes come to the start line masked and will be responsible for keeping their mask throughout the race.
*A coach from each individual team will be in the finish area to collect their athletes and direct them to the appropriate area for social distancing. Coaches will be masked.
*All spectators are to be masked and responsibly socially distanced.
*We appreciate all Coaches and Athletes doing their best to be socially distanced
