Bonds, Krechyk Rewrite Kansas Record Book

Kansas thrower Alena Krechyk won the women's weight throw at the Air Force Invitational in Colorado Springs, Colo., setting a new Kansas school record of 19.37 meters (63-06.75 feet). Krechyk bested the previous school record of 18.97 (62-3 feet), held by Zlata Tarasova since 2008. Krechyk's mark also met the NCAA provisional qualifying standard in the event, as she becomes the sixth Jayhawk to qualify for the NCAA Indoor Championships this season.
