Metropolitan League Relays 2026

Jefferson Academy High School in conjunction with the Metropolitan League would like re-welcome you to the annual Metro League Relays to be held at the campus of Jefferson Academy High School. Our new 6 lane track will be a great venue for the league to gather and compete while building your team chemistry.  The meet will be held on the afternoon/evening of Tuesday April 7 at 4:30 and will likely conclude under the lights around 7:00pm. Entry Information:  Schools may enter an A and B team for each event and each of the two relay teams can score.  We will also have field event teams scored relay style. The top 2 boys and top two girls distances/heights from each teams field events will be scored as a squad.  Field event athletes will have three attempts with no finals.  We will enter teams in milesplit so do your best to have a properly seeded time for any B track squads you enter.  We will have an entry fee that our Athletic Director will discuss with your ADs.

Admission: Admission for spectators is $5 for adults.  Students are free.  Use this link to pre-pay for tickets to the event .  We will have concessions available throughout the evening.  

League School responsibilities: Similar to the League Championships, each school will have an event to work.  We can determine those events as the time arrives.  We will need workers for the following events: Long Jump, Triple Jump, High Jump, Discus and Shot.  We can determine the need for pole vault as the time arrives.

5:40pm 4x100 mixed gender relay (g,b,g,b)

5:45pm Distance Medley Relay 1200-400-800-1600

6:00pm 4x200m relay

6:15pm SMR 100-100-200-400

6:30pm4x100 co-ed throwers relay (g,b,g,b)

6:40pm4x400m relay

Field events:

Field events begin at 4:15 with first calls at 4:00 for all field athletes. Three jumps/throws per athlete. No finals.

Rules and Regulations

Although this is not a qualifying meet, we still would like to operate under the official rules of the Federation and CHSAA with spikes, implement weights and such.  

Infield competition area and camps

Because of the nature of League relays, camps can be set up on the perimeter of the infield area.  We just ask that teams leave their areas free of trash when they depart and use caution when crossing the track and moving in the infield as other competitors may be warming up.  Check-in areas for track events will be located near the finish line.  Please, no camps in the East stands.  Teams may also set up outside the fence on the south side of the track area.  Please no gum or sunflower seeds!
