2017 Delta Invitational: Montrose Brings A Broom And Sweeps

Freshman Performances

One of the questions heading into each season is what surprise talents will the freshman class bring to the mix.  Some of the big freshmen performances from the meet are highlighted below:

Montrose's Keli Drye debuted in the throwing events and returned home with a second and fifth place tally.  Only Delta's Lily Lockhart was better in the shot put on this day.  Drye started with a put of 35-01.75 and following up with a discus toss of 96-3.

Telluride adds Shannon Wyszynski and Lily Graves to their roster.  Wyszynski clocked 28.39 in the 200 (1.6) to place 3rd and leapt 16-02.25 (0.6) for 2nd in the long jump.  Graves placed 3rd in the triple jump in 28-07.5 (0.0) and both contributed to their relays.

Kaley St. Peter of Delta finished first in her 100H heat in 18.39 (1.1) which was enough for 2nd overall and then long jumped 15-08.25 (0.7) for 3rd.

These ladies will be ones to watch as they develop their skills.
