2018 CSML Meet: A Few Into State Under The Wire

5A Girls

Cami Beatty of Pine Creek was fast enough to win the 100, but it appears the Colorado Springs crowd will be watching this event at State from across the fence. Aliyah George won the 200 and should be the lone Colorado Springs representative in the 5A 200 field at State. George also won the 400 and will be sent at State in that event as well.

Kyla Ramsey ran 5:14.96 to win the 1600 but will have to hope her time from the Pueblo Twilight last weekend keeps her in the State field. She'll be sitting on the bubble tonight.

Kiana Jackson won the 100 hurdles, but nobody in the field did anything to improve seed marks at State. Lily Acosta won the 300 hurdles but just missed improving her time. She does appear to have made the State cut, however.

Emily Ellis's 5-2.5 in the high jump was both enough to win the event and enough to secure a spot in the State field.

Kiana Jackson dominated both the long and triple jump and therefore gets another week to ply her trade in the horizontals. Tougher fields await, however.

Jordan Thomas threw herself into the State shot put field with a 38-3 PR. Kierra Nash, arguably in the discus field before this weekend's action kicked off, added a win in that event to her season's resume.
