For most athletes the first week of practice means a lot of anticipation and a little bit of soreness. It's nice to know there's something worth working for, even as you start out on the journey.
As athletes think about the season ahead, one question that runs through the minds of a lot of individuals is, "What will it take to make it to state?" The answer to that question, of course, varies a great deal by classification. And, while there's no way to project now exactly what it will take to make it to state this year, the first and best indicator is what it took to make it to state last year. That's what this series of articles is about. We'll break down those magical marks for each classification and gender over the next few days.
