On the third event of the meet program, Alexa Chacon of The Classical Academy took better than a tenth of a second of her own 3A all-time record in the 100 hurdles, finishing in 14.41 (+1.7). But, to be fair about this mark, the record already belonged to Chacon, and it seemed only a matter of time and opportunity until she lowered her own mark. But, it did serve as a nice warm-up act for things to come.
While the sprinters and hurdlers were doing their thing on the track the throwers were having an exceptional day in the discus ring. With light breezes providing a little extra loft, the discs went flying.
