Broomfield departs the Northern Conference for the 5A ranks next fall, but the impact at the top for the girls is relatively small. Three of the top 4A girls teams in the state came from this conference last fall and it could be same song, second verse again next fall. Thompson Valley, Mountain View, and Niwot are loaded.

Niwot, of course, takes the big hit to graduation, but the team is loaded and figures to be able to people problems once again next year. In Christa Boettiger, Jenna McCaffrey, and Emily Cranny, the Cougars return three sub-20 types. That's a great start.

Thompson Valley, of course, returns all but one of their scoring five from this year's state championship team. The Eagles, as a matter of fact, return five sub-20s in Emily Leidig, Helena Ernst, Megan Irvin, Kendra Larson, and Kacie Kaufman. They will be ...
