Tell us a little about the decision for Texas Tech--what it was about the school that made you want to go there, what you see in the track program, any of that...
I picked Texas Tech because it's been my dream school ever since I was a little kid. And growing up in Houston, it just felt right for me to go back down south. I also had a great visit while down in Lubbock and, when meeting with the coaches, it just felt right to be a Red Raider.
You've run a wide range of distances in high school. What's your favorite event, and why?
The 400 or the 4x400. The bond I have with my relay members is just priceless, and going to Littleton there is a big history in strong LHS 4x400 teams, so it's just a honor to be a part of one.
Has Texas Tech given you any indication what they think you'll be running there?
I know I will be going down and training for the 400 and 800.
You had a serious concussion in cross country this fall that caused you to miss most of the season. How difficult has it been coming back from that?
My faith really guided me through the concussion, The process of healing was long and stressful, but luckily my school accommodated me with missing a month of school so it was a smooth transition back into everything. Also I couldn't of done it with out my parents. We spent a lot of time together.
Pick a highlight of your high school career for us...
My highlight would have to be last spring getting second in the 4x4. It was just special because we knew we could do it when no one expected us to.
And, with what time you have left in your high school career, what's at the top of your list to try to accomplish?
I want to go after a individual state title along with a 4x400 title and beat the school records.
